Congratulations to our very own Laura Hobby!
F.S Mackenzie are proud to announce that our very own Laura Hobby (Inside Sales Supervisor) was crowned ‘Young Freight Forwarder of the Year’ at last week’s annual BIFA awards ceremony. Presented by guest judge Joe Ellis from Virgin Atlantic and celebrity Rugby world cup winner and TV personality Matt Dawson. Laura was awarded the winner after a an initial recommendation by F.S Mackenzie commercial Director Steven Hughan, followed by a 750 word personal essay on Laura’s career and achievements to date, where she was then shortlisted as a finalist and attended an interview process with a panel of industry representatives at the institute of directors in London.
The Young Freight Forwarder Award was established to recognise an individual with the drive and ambition to flourish in the international freight industry. Entrants must be under the age of 32, employed by a BIFA Member and have a minimum of two years’ experience across relevant disciplines. The winner of the prestigious Young Freight Forwarder Award will be nominated by BIFA to represent the UK in the FIATA / TT Club Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year competition next year.
BIFA’s announcement of Laura’s win read: The judges were impressed by the way Laura demonstrated clear commercial awareness in a sales role articulating commercial benefits to success she has had to date. Laura is clearly a hardworking individual demonstrated by her personal development in completing a degree while delivering multiple projects for the business. The passion for the industry was incredible to see and shone through most notably in her knowledge of BIFA and taking annual leave to talk to local schools about the industry and her experience in it.
From everyone at F.S Mackenzie we want to say a huge congratulations to Laura.
